The final fight cabinet (all games by capcom) actually does save high scores in all games after you shut it off. Not sure if that was the case in the original arcades, because those games were basically never shut off so it was never an issue. The older gen cabinets generally dont save the scores. The newer gen cabinets do save the scores.
